Waterfalls of Love for the Welfels | Clearly Classy Events

Courtney & Richard Welfel's wedding at The Lodge at Bridal Veil Falls won Clearly Classy Events a Texas Star Award for "Best Wedding Event ($75,000 - $200,000)" !! Their award-winning wedding was a gorgeous summer affair in Spring Branch, Texas on Saturday, June 21, 2014. The couple's vision of elegance and lots of sparkle all came together perfectly for their beloved guests to enjoy and celebrate Courtney and Richard becoming husband and wife.

Courtney carried her colors of cobalt blue and orange through each detail of the wedding. Invitations were wrapped in a cobalt blue sash with faux diamonds in the middle, all uniquely crafted by The Inviting Pear. Programs for the day matched with similar sash detail, sparkle and soft orange font.

The wedding floral was designed and created by Merveille Events. Her multi-colored cascade bridal-bouquet featured blue-hued blooms at the round top and white orchids spilling gracefully downward for a sophisticated and stylized look. Flower girls carried blue pomanders and bridesmaids, in matching cobalt strapless dresses, carried orange bouquets wrapped in blue ribbon.

The ceremony was held at nearby St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Blanco, Texas. Small blue and white arrangements hung as aisle decor, and the church's stained glass windows of kneeling angels made a lovely altar setting.

With the exchanging of rings and the seal of a kiss, Courtney and Richard were united as one and pronounced husband and wife!

The Lodge at Bridal Veil Falls is one of the Hill Country's most breathtaking venues architecturally designed for the most refined taste. The Lodge features a gorgeous stone exterior and beautiful landscaping that includes numerous waterfalls flowing into a spring creek.

With a venue to accommodate all seasons and many guests, Courtney and Richard picked the outdoor site to host their cocktail hour. Sequined high tables with small varied orange centerpieces decorated the patio.

With the creek and waterfalls in the background, overflow dinner tables were also placed on the tiered site. Tables were adorned with alternating pintucked and sequined linens from Whim Events Rentals and La Tavola Linen.

As guests transitioned inside to the ballroom, a creatively executed floral swan greeted guests in the foyer near the guestbook! Rich in white carnations, roses and orchids it was quite the statement piece and a glimpse of the detail and elegance Courtney and Richard envisioned for their wedding.

The Lodge's ballroom was the perfect choice to bring Courtney's vision to life. With its gorgeous heavy beams, sparkling chandeliers and a floating staircase for the grandest of entrances, the venue is state of the art! Decorating the dance floor was their wedding monogram, a lit "Courtney Richard W".

Keeping with the wedding's design, each place setting featured a sparkling silver glitter BBJ charger, topped with a crimson blue pleated napkin and miniature orange rosebud.

Lavish floral centerpieces also by Merveille Events ranged from deep blue hydrangeas and roses, to rich orange tulips, daisies and crisp white orchids. Courtney wanted a wide variety of arrangements, with every table to have a uniquely crafted piece within the same array of colors. Sitting within mixed bell-shaped vases, crystal punch bowls, skyline vases and clear glass-footed bowls, the varying height centerpieces created a gorgeous dimension and visual for the reception.

Each table was given a menu to know what delicious eats they would soon be enjoying. Customized, monogrammed napkins were at the dessert and beverage bar. Also found at the bar were menu signs listing different beer, liquors, and specialty wines.

Courtney and Richard couldn't have their wedding day without bringing in Mik's Catering from their hometown to prepare all the southern foods for their guests. These shrimp appetizers, buttery steaks, and cheesy chicken cordon bleu are just some of the outstanding dishes prepared by Mik.

The six-tiered wedding cake by The Sweet Stuff included a variety of flavors and sat upon a transparent tabletop filled with roses, petals and tealight candles. Each tier of the cake had a ribbon of sparkle adorning it and a lush cascade of deep blue roses spiraled down from the top of the cake.

Also for dessert, and as an alternative to the traditional grooms cake, was a scrumptious chocolate-chip cookie cake with a side of pecan chocolate-chip cookies!

As guests enjoyed the tasty desserts, friends of Courtney and Richard made everlasting toasts to celebrate their marriage and start of a new life together.

Once toasts were complete, the group headed into the Grand March. Then into the traditional father - daughter and mother - son dances, ending with an open dance floor for all guests to enjoy!

As the night came to an end, their carriage arrived, and Courtney and Richard made their grand exit through a tunnel of sparklers!! Congratulations again to you both!
